GSOC appeals for witnesses to incident in Newcastle West, Co Limerick

The Garda Sίochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is appealing for help from potential witnesses to an incident it is investigating.

The incident involved the arrest of a man by a number of gardaí in The Square, Newcastle West, Co Limerick on Saturday night/Sunday morning, the 11th/12th of November 2017.

In particular, GSOC would like to hear from a young woman seen on CCTV to have walked out of a restaurant at around 1am as the incident was unfolding nearby.

GSOC would also like to hear from the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle parked at The Square at the time of the arrest.
