GSOC has published its submission to the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland.
5 Feb 2018
The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has called for independence from the Department of Justice and Equality, an overhaul of legislation governing its work, and increased resources in its submission to the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland.
The detailed submission draws on GSOC’s experience of the garda oversight environment over the past decade to address the Commission on the Future of Policing’s specific terms of reference. It also sets out changes which GSOC believes are necessary to improve public confidence in police oversight.
