Witness Appeal – Drogheda Death
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has appealed for witnesses in relation to its investigation into the circumstances of the death of a man in Drogheda, Co Louth on Sunday, 31 January 2021.
The man was arrested in the area of Trinity Street, Drogheda at around 12.30pm Sunday afternoon and brought to Drogheda Garda Station. He was found to be unresponsive shortly afterwards and was brought by ambulance to hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
A Garda Superintendent referred the matter to GSOC in accordance with section 102 (1) the Garda Síochána Act, 2005.
Potential witnesses who may have information in relation to the death or who were in the vicinity of Trinity Street, Drogheda before 12.40pm Sunday 31 January are asked to ring the GSOC witness appeal line at 1890 600 800.
