Witness Appeal – GSOC investigation of a road traffic collision in Limerick
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is seeking assistance in its investigation of a road traffic collision in Limerick.
Where: On R513 at Ballylanders, Co. Limerick
When: Approximately 15.00 hours on Saturday 26 October 2024.
What: GSOC would like to speak to any witnesses who observed any incident, activity or interactions at this time and location. GSOC would also welcome the provision of any CCTV, dashcam or mobile footage witnesses may have captured.

Referral of this matter to GSOC
GSOC received a referral from An Garda Síochána on the 26 October 2024, following a road traffic incident in Limerick that took place in the afternoon.
The referral was made by a Garda Superintendent under section 102(1) of the Garda Síochána Act, 2005.
The matter is now under investigation by GSOC.
NOTE:
Section 102(1) of the Garda Síochána Act, 2005 provides for the referral to GSOC by An Garda Síochána of ‘any matter that appears…to indicate that the conduct of a member of the Garda Síochána may have resulted in the death of, or serious harm to, a person.’
